Creativity, Dance and Movement:  Gwanwyn Festival  May 2nd – May 3oth   Llandough Hosptial, Vale of Glamorgan

The Gwanwyn Festival supported by Age Cymru takes place each year across Wales. As part of the celebrations, the HeARTh Gallery has focussed its attention on creative expression through movement, balance and strength building, Creative Visualisation and Mindfulness and the creation of a relaxing space in the gallery.

Using a combination of projected film footage taken from regular visits to the Glynneath Valley (Ystradfellte), the consideration for the Gwanwyn Festival is to focus on bringing the natural environment to the HeARTh Gallery.

The moving images on display are transposed over paintings with the intention of creating the same mesmerising response one has to experiencing a flowing waterfall. The viewer is suspended in the present and therefore encouraged to engage in a mindful experience.

‘a shared walk’

Made in Roath Festival, Cardiff

October 2017:  The Old Laundry, Braeval Street, Roath, Cardiff

An exploration of Roath Park, Cardiff by a group of 8 artists, and their invited ‘plus 1’.  The exhibition of artworks explored 2 miles of diverse community spaces brings together a wide range of creative collaborative responses with visual conversations inside and outside of the group.

The shared walk is being developed into a walkable trail and artworks will be digitized and mapped to specific locations following the trail.  The website walkers will be able to discover the artworks in the locations that inspired them.
